Winter Nature Walk

We had beautiful balmy weather yesterday (45 degrees) and were able to take a walk down to the post office. I took along this scavenger hunt list and we had an enjoyable time finding a variety of items and sights on the way. Not surprisingly it took us a whole hour to walk the 9 blocks to and from the post office, lol!
The kids all dressed up in their coats, boots, and gloves; we stayed plenty warm with the sun shining on us even though there was a strong North wind.
I strapped William (1yo) into the Ergo carrier and then topped it with DH's work coat which covered both of us plenty well indeed:)

Here is what we discovered on our "adventure".
  • A tree that has lost all its leaves
  • A tree with only a few leaves on it.
  • An evergreen tree.
  • Buds on trees.
  • Animal tracks in mud
  • A bird
  • A pinecone
  • Something with thorns
  • The wind
  • A bird chirping
  • A smooth rock
  • A tree with smooth bark
  • A tree with rough bark
  • Something wet
